Build a useful comparison
A salary range becomes more meaningful when it matches:
- Profession and specialization
- Seniority and management scope
- Relevant experience
- Industry
- Employer and business size
- Basic salary and allowances
- Current pay or new offer
- Typical working conditions
For example, “project manager” can describe technology delivery, construction, events or internal operations. Combining those observations creates a number that describes nobody well.
Roles WorkHabibi is building first
Initial role cohorts include:
- Software engineer
- Civil and mechanical engineer
- Project manager
- Accountant and finance manager
- Executive assistant
- HR manager
- Marketing manager
- Sales manager
- Data analyst
- Nurse and pharmacist
- Teacher
- Architect and quantity surveyor
- Operations manager
- Customer-service and administrative roles
WorkHabibi will publish a range when enough comparable contributions exist. Until then, the page should state that more evidence is needed rather than inventing a figure.
Why a band is better than one average
A band shows the spread between lower and higher observations. The median can show the center when the cohort supports it. A responsible page should also display sample size, data period, location, package definition and whether offers are mixed with employee salaries.
Be skeptical when a salary page does not explain where its numbers came from.
Compare total packages carefully
Monthly salary may mean basic pay, fixed cash package or total compensation including variable bonus. WorkHabibi records components separately and presents monthly local-currency bands. Read basic salary versus total salary before comparing offers.
