HRSD's published working-condition provisions describe a general ceiling of eight actual hours per day or 48 per week, with reduced hours for Muslim workers during Ramadan and exceptions for certain roles and operating arrangements. The provisions also address breaks and overtime compensation.
Ask before joining
- What are the normal start and finish times?
- Which days form the working week?
- Are breaks included in the stated schedule?
- How is overtime approved and recorded?
- Is compensatory leave used?
- Does the role fall under an exception?
- What changes during Ramadan?
Ask what happened in the team during the last busy period. A concrete recent example is more useful than “we value work-life balance.”
Preserve records
If actual hours become disputed, keep lawful personal records of schedules, approvals and pay statements. Do not take confidential company data or identify colleagues publicly.
