Compare the right cohort
Match your offer against the same profession, level, industry and city. Keep employee salaries separate from unaccepted offers, and distinguish Saudi nationals from expatriate packages only when the comparison is relevant and the cohort is large enough to protect contributors.
Break down the package
Record basic salary, housing, transport, fixed allowances, bonus, commission, medical cover, flights and relocation support. Ask which payments are guaranteed and which depend on targets.
Housing is especially important in Riyadh. If accommodation is supplied, confirm location, privacy, utilities and whether you can choose a cash allowance instead. For family relocation, verify dependent medical cover and education support.
Price the working conditions
Ask about actual weekly hours, breaks, weekend expectations, Ramadan scheduling and travel. HRSD publishes the governing working-condition provisions and official labour guidance; individual categories and exceptions still matter.
A practical test
Before accepting, determine whether:
- The guaranteed cash supports your realistic monthly costs.
- The offer is competitive for the role—not merely higher than your previous salary.
- Major benefits are written into the contract.
- The basic and variable components are clear.
- You would accept if no discretionary bonus or future raise appeared.
